Synopsis
The 2-6-0 Mogul was developed as an improvement of the 0-6-0 steam locomotive design of the 1860s. The 0-6-0 chassis was too rigid for the rough trackage of the period . The addition of a two wheel swiveling lead truck created a three-point suspension system allowing the locomotive to ride more smoothly on uneven track.
