Thomas and his friends are getting ready for a festival. They have to prepare the rides, sort the goods coming in for the event, and even catch up with some runaway cows before the festival can take place. What's more, they can't move a piston until they're cleaned up in the engine shop.

Thomas & Friends: The Great Festival Adventure offers a series of games to very young computer users starting from the age of 2. As Thomas, Harold, and the other trains and tractors prepare for the festival, they enlist player aid to do everything from keeping track of the number of passengers who can fit in a passenger car to conducting the festival band. Early sorting, color matching, and shape-recognition skills are given a workout in the process. The game also seeks to keep its young target audience engaged by including long animated sequences of Thomas going about his business, interacting with his various friends as he does.
